when silence is supportive
Neglect & abandonment were four letter words in my book. Framed in the only way I experienced it- negatively.
Until I watched Count of Monte Cristo for the tenth time and landed on the phrase he recited while learning how to read.
“So neglect becomes our ally”. Their captors were not concerned with their daily routines & this “neglect” became the very factor that allowed their escape.
So I ask you, where can you reframe this notion of neglect into an ally?
Neglect can mean “nobody cares”😔 or it can mean “nobody cares”😃
Painful invalidation or liberating freedom? The choice is yours.
